A photo of the Ames store that used to be at Pine Lake Center in LaPorte Indiana, located at 71 Pine Lake Ave. LaPorte Indiana 46350. I never visited this store when it was open, but I have the next best picture of what the storefront looks like today. When looking inside of the store, it just about looks like it was Ames in its day. I don't know when it opened or closed. I just wonder if it might have been a former Zayre store, as Zayre was in LaPorte Indiana in the 80's.

The LaPorte location was built as an Ames store in the late 80's. It was built on the former Allis-Chalmers tractor plant site, along with the Kroger store that operates to this day. After Ames closed, for a short time it was a Quality Farm & Fleet and now 1/3 of the original Ames building is now occupied by Tractor Supply & Co.
